SnackHost clients can choose whether they want their disk in Cloud Server to be backed up or to have daily snapshots. Snapshot technology is often defined as virtual copy of data as appeared in specific time point.
Snapshot technology is often defined as virtual copy of data as appeared in specific time point. This technology is most commonly used in storage systems to enhance efficiency, data protection and possible backup problems – as for example corrupted data recovery. When selecting the right option to protect your data, it is neccessary to realize snapshots are not equivalent to backups.
Snapshots help you to backup and recover your primary and critical data faster, although are just time point copies of your data. One of the options offered within the SnackHost Cloud Servers service would be to have a daily snapshot kept for 5 days back. The disk charge depends upon the selected backup option. Data will be backed up to a separate location (different datacenter) and clients can always choose whatever snapshot they wish to have recovered and get the server running from this specific moment. This way clients can use the backup support in case they would lose some data etc.
